Location Detail: Natchaug-Mental Health Worker (10188)

Shift Detail: Standard schedule: Monday - Friday; 11:30am - 6:30pm, Summer & Winter break hours: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 2:30pm. Will float to other Natchaug site locations as needed.

Natchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticut’s leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance abuse addictions. We offers a variety of programs including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment for court-involved teenage girls, geriatric services, clinical day treatment schools and chemical dependency services. Through our multi-site network of care, we constantly strive to meet its mission in helping people find their way while educating and empowering individuals to participate in their own care and recovery.

Program Summary

Natchaug's Joshua Center Programs treat children as young as 6 and as old as 17 who are struggling with psychiatric or substance abuse issues, but do not require inpatient care. Services Include: Comprehensive assessment, which may include: Comprehensive aftercare planning, family, group, and individual therapy, occupational and creative rehabilitation therapy. Natchaug Hospital provides transportation from school to the Joshua Center Program, and then to the student’s home.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Worker provides therapeutic interventions for clients and participates as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team in adherence to hospital policies and core values.  Provides transportation from school to the Joshua Center program and then to the student's home with company vehicle. 

This position floats to other Natchaug clinical sites; Danielson, Dayville, Groton, Norwich, Mansfield Center, Enfield, and Vernon. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with behavioral health clients preferred. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • 2 years related experience required. 
  • Current CT Driver’s license with a clean driving record for a minimum 3 consecutive years. 
  • Ability to obtain a Public Service License "A" Endorsement within 90 days of hire, which requires ability to pass pre-hire drug screen and DOT physical exam. 
  • Must have and maintain a telephone number for scheduling. 
  • Computer proficiency and keyboarding skills required.
