General Description

The Business Analyst (BA) in the Technical Requirements Gathering team plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This role is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating technical requirements to support the successful delivery of projects and initiatives. The BA collaborates closely with stakeholders across departments to ensure that business objectives are translated into clear, actionable technical specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Elicit and document technical requirements by engaging stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
  • Translate business needs into actionable technical specifications, including functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and project managers to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
  • Support the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process by assisting in the creation of test scripts, validating solutions, and providing clarifications during testing and defect triage.
  • Maintain requirement traceability by tracking changes, updating traceability matrices, and ensuring version control and audit readiness.
  • Review and analyze data files and system extracts to validate that technical requirements have been correctly implemented and identify discrepancies or issues, using tools such as Excel, Power Query, and MS Access.
  • Participate in solution design discussions to confirm feasibility, business fit, and alignment with documented requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This Job has no supervisory responsibilities but in special circumstances may lead the work of others.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience

  • At least two (2) years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a related area. Knowledge in mortgage business and operations is a plus.
  • Experience participating in system implementations, requirements gathering, process improvement initiatives, and documenting processes is desirable.
  • Exposure to cross-functional teams and technology projects is a plus.

  • Strong skills in requirements elicitation, technical writing, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated business knowledge and quick learning of processes and systems.
  • High attention to detail and documentation diligence.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in financial services.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Power Query, or MS Access.
  • Knowledge and experience working with MSP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Spanish).
