Who we are

Mastering the RF spectrum – Symlab AG was founded in 2016 and is growing steadily in the development and production of equipment such as jammers, receivers, transmitters, monitoring and classification devices, radio direction finders and antidrone equipment. Symlab AG, headquartered in Freienbach, is a subsidiary of Global Clearance Solutions AG, which eliminates explosive threats and enables the reconstruction of war-torn regions. 

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Development Engineer to join our team at Technopark Zurich. In this role, you will design and develop advanced embedded software solutions in a Linux-based environment, working on cutting-edge wireless and signal-processing systems for Jamming Systems.

You will play a key role in developing robust, high-performance embedded applications running on modern System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms, contributing across the full software lifecycle—from architecture and implementation to testing and deployment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for Linux-based systems
  • Develop and optimize applications for System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms
  • Define and implement clean, scalable, and well-documented APIs
  • Collaborate on the development of web-based GUIs for system control and monitoring
  • Integrate software with hardware components and ensure system-level functionality
  • Perform debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of embedded systems
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure software quality and maintainability
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware, system engineering, and product management

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in embedded software development
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ (additional languages are a plus)
  • Solid experience with Linux (kernel and/or user space)
  • Experience working with SoC architectures and low-level hardware interfaces
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs
  • Familiarity with network protocols and embedded communication interfaces
  • Experience with web technologies (e.g., REST APIs, HTML/CSS/JavaScript) for GUI development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Fluent English (mandatory); German is a strong advantage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in wireless communication or signal-processing applications
  • Knowledge of real-time systems and embedded security
  • Familiarity with build systems and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
