New Product Development Manager

In this position, you will be part of a Tektronix New Product Launch team that will introduce new products into the manufacturing environment. You will serve as an Operations Leader for complex New Product Introduction programs, driving manufacturing strategy, operational readiness, supply chain risk mitigation, and cross-functional execution from concept through production ramp. You will influence key business decisions, lead global teams through ambiguity, and develop innovative solutions to accelerate successful product commercialization.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading global cross-functional core teams within Operations on Test & Measurement instrument New Product Development (NPD) programs.
  • Representing the Operations/Manufacturing organization on NPD core teams, and articulating program information and strategies back to Operations/Manufacturing management.
  • Coordinating development of program manufacturing, test, and materials plans, including the identification and mitigation of manufacturing and supply chain risks.
  • Working with engineering and materials teams to develop and track product cost estimates.
  • Working with product development program manager to ensure available tooling and test equipment capacity to support manufacturing ramp and steady state production.
  • Lead global cross-functional teams through ambiguity and changing business priorities.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives that improve NPI execution capability across the organization.
  • Establish scalable processes, tools, and best practices that improve speed, quality, and predictability of product launches.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate depth of knowledge and experience in:

  • New Product Development processes.
  • Ability to quickly drive, communicate and gain support for decisions in ambiguous and unstructured environments.
  • Candidate should be a results-oriented team player who leads by example, holds one’s self accountable for performance, takes ownership, and champions process improvement initiatives.
  • Manufacturing cost drivers at both Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) and product level, and a deep understanding of how to influence those costs to maximize operational efficiency and gross margins.
  • Strong English language written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, manufacturing, operations, or supply chain
  • 3+ years leading complex cross-functional programs, or program/project management experience on complex products
  • Demonstrated success launching technically complex products into production.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally up to 30% of the time

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience leading global programs across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Experience managing outsourced manufacturing partners.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders and driving strategic decisions.
  • MBA, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent credentials.
  • Microsoft Power BI suite of products
