Where You Will Work

Our office is located in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Employees in New Orleans mostly follow a hybrid schedule where they are required to work in office, attend in-person meetings or training and may also collaborate virtually. New Orleans is a popular tourist destination known for its rich history, architecture, cultural arts, music, and cuisine. Many great hotels, galleries, restaurants, and museums are a short walk from the office.

What You Will Do

Under limited supervision plan, organize, manage and evaluate designated engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost.

  • Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects.
  • Manage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modifications.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.
  • Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.
  • Develop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests.
  • May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
  • May represent the site on Company sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Works on complex issues and implements solutions mostly through the determination of strategy and delegation to others in a group or functionalarea.
  • Often collaborates with managers and/or functional or site leaders and hassome interaction with external colleagues.
  • Works under moderate supervision and has some latitude to set objectives, priorities and timelines that may impact department or individual work group
  • Contributes to budget preparation by supplying costs and recommendations. Manages appropriate project budgets for consulting services.
  • Manages a specific program or project, but typically does not supervise people

What You Bring To Freeport

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in engineering or related field, OR
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in engineering or related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
  • Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
  • Skilled in managing large/complex engineering projects
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data architecture, data engineering, and BI development principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency and relevant certifications in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies, including but not limited to SQL, Python, ETL tools, BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of engineering and EPC project lifecycle processes and workflows, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, project controls, document control, progress measurement, and multi-discipline interdependencies.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges and opportunities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Technical knowledge of engineering systems, design tools, project information management, document control practices, and reporting processes.
  • Organizational skills to coordinate across cross-functional teams, manage priorities, track issues, and support delivery against defined schedules and project requirements.
  • Understanding of how engineering interacts with procurement and contracting, construction and commissioning disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and steer project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle moderately complex problem-solving tasks, applying appropriate analysis to identify root causes, evaluate options, and recommend practical solutions.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $97,500 - $138,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
