Senior Project Manager-Full Time Remote
Our Organization
CDP, a Boston-based public benefit corporation, uses the collaborative fundraising model to improve the operational efficiency and revenue generation capacity of the public media system. CDP currently provides more than 230 NPR and PBS public media organizations (PMOs) with outsourced marketing, data analytics, fundraising, and technology services. These services help PMOs raise more net income, grow their donor files faster, lower their fundraising costs, and free up development talent allowing stations to better focus on local engagement. Since its inception, CDP has delivered more than $785 million in membership revenue for local PMOs participating in its services and has become the most widely adopted Public Media service in the history of public broadcasting.
Just as CDP is committed to supporting public media organizations around the country, we are equally committed to supporting each of our team in their own professional development.

Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager leads large-scale, complex client implementations spanning multiple cross-functional workstreams. This role provides strategic oversight, ensuring that client onboarding projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Acting as the central liaison for both clients and internal teams, the Senior Project Manager drives alignment across departments, manages project risk at a portfolio level and continuously refines onboarding frameworks to improve efficiency, scalability, and client experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
- Lead end-to-end implementation and onboarding for high-value or complex clients, overseeing timelines and scope.
- Oversee program-level coordination where multiple workstreams and dependencies must be tightly managed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams, driving collaboration, accountability, and transparency.
- Coordinate multiple internal workstreams (CRM, Data, Marketing, Digital, Support, etc.) to ensure deliverables are aligned and dependencies are managed.
- Facilitate client-facing status meetings, internal check-ins, and milestone reviews to ensure alignment and progress.
- Anticipate and resolve risks, issues, and cross-functional blockers before they impact project timelines.
Stakeholder & Client Leadership
- Guide clients through the transition to new tools, platforms, workflows, and business processes by connecting implementation activities to operational outcomes.
- Translate client goals, pain points, constraints, and business-process needs into clear implementation requirements, decisions, risks, and recommendations.
- Partner with subject-matter experts when technical, data, marketing, finance, or operational expertise is required, while retaining overall project ownership.
Risk, Issue & Decision Leadership
- Proactively identify red flags, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and readiness gaps before they affect client outcomes.
- Maintain current risk, issue, decision, and dependency records with clear impact, severity, ownership, mitigation, target dates, and escalation paths.
- Lead issue resolution across internal teams, station stakeholders, and external partners; remove blockers and drive decisions to closure.
- Escalate thoughtfully with a concise problem statement, business and client impact, actions already taken, viable options, and a recommendation.
- Use trends and lessons learned across implementations to strengthen mitigation strategies and prevent repeat issues.
- Provide proactive insights and recommendations that influence onboarding strategy and client outcomes.
Reporting, Analytics & Decision Support
- Create and maintain accurate client-facing and leadership reporting that communicates progress, milestones, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and readiness.
- Ensure project plans, logs, reports, and governance materials are consistent, current, decision-useful, and appropriate for the audience.
- Contribute to shared portfolio visibility across the Project Manager team, including coverage, dependencies, emerging risks, and implementation health.
Problem Discovery & Product-Oriented Thinking
- Frame problems clearly, assess impact, engage the appropriate partners, and bring options and a recommended path forward.
- Support journey mapping, current-state and future-state process mapping, and solution-shaping sessions when appropriate.
- Distinguish project-specific issues from systemic patterns that may require broader product, operational, or organizational solutions.
Key Skills & Attributes
- 7–10 years of experience in Project Management, Client Onboarding, or SaaS/CRM implementations.
- Proven success leading complex, multi-workstream client implementations or enterprise-level onboarding projects.
- Strong client management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Expertise with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, Microsoft Teams).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on project management expertise.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management.
- Proactive risk mitigator and solution-oriented communicator.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Adaptable to evolving priorities and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
