Java Solution Architect, Dublin (Contract)

Location: Dublin, Ireland. Onsite. Engagement: Contract, day rate. 1+ year. Rate: Day rate. Start: Immediate. Experience: 12+ years.

The engagement

A major Irish bank needs a Java Solution Architect onsite in Dublin for at least a year. The estate is Java services on Spring Boot, built as microservices. You will own the solution design for that estate and work with the delivery teams building it. This programme is being delivered through a Tier-1 system integrator.

What you will do

Set the solution architecture for Java and Spring Boot services, from the business requirement through to the design the engineering teams build against. Decide how services are split, how they talk to each other and to the bank's existing systems, and how they are deployed and run. Review designs and code for fit with the architecture, and hold the line on standards for resilience, security and performance. Write the architecture artefacts a regulated bank expects, and take designs through its governance and review boards. Work alongside business analysts, engineering leads, testers and operations as the single point of design authority for your area.

What you bring

12+ years in software, with several years as the named solution or technical architect on Java programmes, not only as a senior developer. Designed and delivered microservice estates on Spring Boot in production, at scale. Integration design across APIs, messaging and legacy core systems. Experience inside a bank or another regulated financial services firm, with its governance, security and change controls. Able to explain a design and its trade-offs to engineers and to business stakeholders in plain terms.

Good to have

Cloud-native delivery on a public cloud platform, containers and CI/CD. Payments, lending or core banking domain knowledge.

Practical

The role is onsite in Dublin. You need to be based in Dublin now, or able to be there for an immediate start, with the right to work in Ireland. Contract through Yadimen Consulting Limited, a financial services IT consulting company.
