Overview

The Financial Analyst, working under the direct supervision of the Budget and Forecasting Manager, will be responsible for ensuring the proper and timely preparation of weekly/monthly/annual/off cycle financial reports which are to be used throughout the organization. The Financial Analyst will also assist in the development, enhancement and automation of financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a positive work environment and promote the vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Work daily on required and requested reporting needs of the organization.
  • Schedule and prioritize weekly, monthly and off cycle reporting to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for financial reporting to Budget and Forecasting Manager and Chief Financial Officer on projects.
  • Develop catalog of available financial reports.
  • Assist Budget and Forecasting Manager with annual budgeting process as well as quarterly forecasts.
  • Responsible to work with accounting personnel to validate data for new and ongoing financial reporting that accesses CODA, DBS or any ancillary system data.
  • Calculates KPI’s (operational and financial), prepares performance dashboards.
  • Meets regularly to review monthly financial performance with functional leaders, identifies trends and offers advice to mitigate or control costs.
  • Plays a critical role in developing our annual financial plan, running sensitivity analyses, and ensuring consistency in our financial modeling routines.
  • Provides coaching on financial matters to ensure all employees perform at their highest level.
  • Leads the efforts to develop greater financial acumen in business and with operations leaders.
  • Ensures that internal controls are in place, functioning properly and sufficient to protect company assets and the credibility of the financial results.
  • Prepares periodic forecasts at the direction of Budget and Forecasting Manger and CFO for review for region and company near-term planning purposes.
  • Works with Accounting Department on month- and year-end close process.
  • Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks.
  • Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 2-3 years of consecutive related experience required.
  • Strong computer skills in an MS Office environment, advanced skills in Excel required.
  • High level of personal integrity with ability to maintain, store, transmit and communicate highly confidential information.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with executives, managers, employees, vendors and customers.
  • Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Proven ability to navigate change in a productive manner, remaining open and driven by change to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Sound technical skills with ability to assess own strengths and weaknesses; pursue training and development opportunities; strive to continuously build knowledge and skills; share expertise with others.
