R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager, Transportation Design to join our growing Transportation Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a Professional Engineer with strong transportation design and project management experience who is looking to lead impactful municipal infrastructure projects while helping grow a dynamic and collaborative team.

Working closely with the Vice President, Transportation Design GTA, you will manage diverse transportation projects from planning and environmental assessment through detailed design and construction. Projects range from local road improvements and active transportation facilities to large-scale regional transportation infrastructure initiatives serving public and private sector clients across Ontario.

What You'll Do

As Project Manager, you will lead and deliver a variety of transportation infrastructure projects, including:

  • Road, highway, and multi-use trail design
  • Active Transportation and Complete Streets projects
  • Transportation Class Environmental Assessments
  • Municipal and regional road improvements
  • Tender preparation and construction administration
  • Traffic management planning
  • Utility coordination and management
  • Cost estimating and feasibility studies
  • Constructability and design standards reviews

Project Management & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams across Burnside offices
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Monitor project performance, utilization, profitability, and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and review technical reports and engineering designs
  • Seal transportation designs and reports as required
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, technologists, and technical staff
  • Contribute to business development, proposal writing, and client growth initiatives
  • Support the continued growth of Burnside's Transportation Group

What You Bring

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario, or eligible for licensure
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive transportation engineering experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience on transportation infrastructure projects

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience delivering:
  • Transportation Class EA studies
  • Detailed transportation design projects
  • Contract administration assignments
  • Strong knowledge of municipal and transportation engineering standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000

The final compensation offered will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
