Position Details
Job Title: Engineering Manager
Function/Department: Technology
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: Hyderabad/Bangalore
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for an Engineering Manager who leads differently — someone who has already internalized that AI changes how software is built, not just what gets built. This role is for a hands-on leader who drives engineering teams to default to AI-first thinking: in how they code, test, review, and ship. You will manage and grow a high-performing engineering team building enterprise-grade platforms on Java, .NET, and Azure, and you will be the person who raises the AI fluency floor of the entire team.
- Set the AI-native engineering standard — AI-assisted development, intelligent test generation, automated code review, and agentic workflows are default practice, not experiments.
- Embed AI tooling into the full SDLC: from requirements parsing to deployment observability.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of scalable enterprise applications; own sprint quality, release velocity, and technical debt trade-offs.
- Make architectural decisions in partnership with Principal Engineers and Solution Architects; be opinionated.
- Actively evaluate emerging AI engineering tools (coding assistants, test generation, semantic search, agentic frameworks) and share learnings across teams.
- Lead and develop a team of engineers and technical leads; own their growth, performance, and culture.
- Champion psychological safety and a bias-for-action culture — high standards and high trust are not a trade-off.
- Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and building the CECI Digital engineering brand.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong hands-on engineering background in Java with solid Azure platform experience.
- You have personally used AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) and embedded them into team workflows — not piloted them.
- Experience leading engineering teams in agile, high-delivery environments.
- You can read code, review PRs, and engage technically — this is not a purely managerial role.
- A clear point of view on what good AI-native engineering looks like, and the ability to articulate it.
- Experience with microservices, cloud-native patterns, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Prior exposure to regulated industries (insurance, fintech, banking) is a plus — not a gate.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 15-20 years in software engineering, with at least 3 years leading teams.
- Exceptional candidates with fewer years and stronger AI depth are welcome.
