Full description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout the Houston area.

The ideal candidate has a strong background with a commercial electrical contractor and proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role will oversee project teams, schedules, budgets, procurement, field operations, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

Projects may include commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, institutional, and municipal facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and industrial electrical projects from preconstruction through final completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and execution strategies.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including forecasting, labor productivity, billing, cost control, and profitability.
  • Coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, procurement, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate material and equipment procurement to maintain project schedules.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients, general contractors, and company leadership.
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions to minimize schedule delays and cost impacts.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company standards, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Oversee commissioning support, punch-list completion, project turnover, and final closeout.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
  • Proven experience managing commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from startup through closeout.
  • Experience with healthcare, education, industrial, institutional, municipal, or large-scale commercial projects is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, construction methods, scheduling, procurement, and field operations.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, subcontractors, billing, and change orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Residential-only electrical project management experience will not be considered.
