Job Description:

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

Technology Solutions at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking candidates for a Manager of Systems Engineering to provide strategic leadership and enterprise-level support for the College's technology environment. This role oversees server and storage platforms, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity operations while ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure services that support academic and administrative needs. The position will drive best practice in system architecture, cloud adoption, automation, and security while fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across technology teams. While this position offers the opportunity for hybrid work, the employee is required to maintain a 37.5-hour workweek in accordance with State Technical College System requirements and must work on-site as needed to support business operations and institutional needs.

Advertised Salary:

$81,192 (Minimum)- $113,730(Midpoint)

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, computer science (information technology), mathematics, statistics, management information science or a related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

VMWare vSphere administration experience, Microsoft Active Directory (DNS/DHCP/Users and Computers), Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, Enterprise SAN Storage experience, PowerShell , Experience building and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7, Microsoft Server 2012/2016, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Barracuda Load Balancer, Blade Server Systems, CAS/OAuth/SAML experience, Exchange Online, Experience maintaining Skype for Business.
