Your Impact at SAM

The Senior Survey Project Manager will lead multiple project managers and oversee large, complex land surveying projects. This role will partner with Market Leads and senior leadership to support business growth and serve as a subject matter expert. A background in utility-related surveying projects is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project work plans, schedules, budgets, and staffing requirements for multiple large-scale survey projects
  • Oversee project scopes, fee proposals, budgets, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC)
  • Monitor project performance, financial results, productivity, and progress toward department goals
  • Identify and implement processes that improve operational efficiency
  • Lead, mentor, and develop professional staff
  • Prepare RFQs, proposals, and project presentations
  • Partner with Market Leads and Market Managers to expand the company’s client base and market presence
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, subconsultants, and other business partners
  • Present project information and company capabilities to clients and key stakeholders
  • Support other operational teams as needed
  • Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and trade shows
  • Provide technical expertise, particularly for utility-related survey projects

What You Bring to SAM

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Proven previous industry experience in a professional or management-level role
  • Experience managing large-scale land surveying projects; utility-related survey experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate licensed surveyors, technicians, and field crews on multidisciplinary projects
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members
  • Experience with contract negotiations, project budgets, fee estimates, and proposals
  • Demonstrated success in business development, marketing, client relationships, and professional networking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate assignments, expectations, and deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines while maintaining collaboration and teamwork
