We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Superintendent / Project Manager to lead high-end residential construction projects throughout the Greater Boston area. This role is responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through final completion while managing field operations, project schedules, budgets, subcontractor coordination, and client communication to ensure exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and on-time delivery.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience with luxury custom homes, multifamily residential, high-end renovations, and historic restoration projects. This position is ideal for a hands-on construction professional who excels at leading field operations, coordinating project teams, and building strong relationships with homeowners, architects, and trade partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential construction projects from preconstruction through final turnover and closeout.
- Oversee daily field operations while maintaining project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, consultants, inspectors, and homeowners throughout every phase of construction.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, look-ahead plans, site logistics, and construction sequencing.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents to ensure accurate project execution.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports, permitting, inspections, and project documentation.
- Conduct jobsite meetings, quality inspections, subcontractor coordination meetings, and progress reviews.
- Identify and resolve field issues, design conflicts, existing condition challenges, material delays, and scheduling concerns.
- Maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship throughout structural work and architectural finishes.
- Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite cleanliness.
- Provide regular project updates to ownership, homeowners, architects, and internal leadership.
- Oversee punch-list completion, owner walkthroughs, project turnover, and final closeout documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners.
- 15+ years of construction experience with progressively increasing leadership responsibility.
- 10+ years managing residential construction projects throughout the Greater Boston area.
- Proven experience with luxury custom homes, multifamily residential, major renovations, or historic restoration projects.
- Experience with historic renovations, brownstone restoration, or architect-driven residential projects is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Boston permitting, inspections, urban construction logistics, and local subcontractor relationships.
- Demonstrated success managing projects from preconstruction through final completion.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and project documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar construction management software.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
