Security Platform Engineer
Assessit · Oslo, Norway
Business Consulting and Services · 11-50 employees
About the role
You will design and build security capabilities into the internal developer platform to automate security controls and guardrails. You will also integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and perform proactive security assessments across AWS cloud infrastructure.
What they look for
Requirements
The role requires hands-on experience in building security standards within cloud environments and familiarity with AWS security tooling. A bachelor's degree in a relevant IT field or equivalent practical experience is required.
Full description
Build the platform that makes secure software the default.
At Easee, we're building technology that makes electrification effortless.
Behind every charging session is a cloud platform processing billions of API requests and IoT events every day. As our products, engineering organisation, and regulatory landscape continue to grow, so does the need for security that scales.
That's why we're looking for our first dedicated Security Platform Engineer.
This is more than a security engineering role. It's an opportunity to help define how security becomes an integral part of software engineering at Easee.
Rather than reviewing security after code has been written, you'll build the platform, automation, and guardrails that make secure development the natural way of working for every engineer.
If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, automating security, and building developer platforms that enable teams to move both faster and safer, we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
You'll join our Platform Infrastructure team and become the technical expert driving Security Platform Engineering across Easee.
Together with Platform Engineers, Software Developers, Product teams, Compliance, and external cyber security specialists, you'll design and evolve the security capabilities that underpin our entire engineering organisation.
You'll influence how security is implemented across more than one million connected devices while helping developers spend less time thinking about security—and more time building great products.
This is a new role with significant ownership, freedom, and opportunity to shape both technology and engineering practices from the ground up.
What you will do
As our Security Platform Engineer, your mission is simple:
Build a developer platform where secure software becomes the easiest software to build.
You will:
- Design and build security capabilities into our internal developer platform
- Integrate security directly into CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes
- Automate security controls using Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code
- Build reusable security guardrails that development teams can adopt by default
- Improve cloud security across AWS, networking, APIs, containers, serverless workloads, identity, and secrets management
- Perform threat modelling, penetration testing, and proactive security assessments
- Build automated monitoring and threat detection using AWS Security Hub, Datadog Cloud SIEM, and related technologies
- Translate regulatory requirements such as NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act into practical engineering solutions
- Collaborate closely with software teams to improve security without slowing development
- Continuously evolve Easee's cloud security architecture as our products and organisation scale
We think you'll thrive if you
- Enjoy building platforms rather than policing people.
- You're someone who sees security as an engineering discipline—one that should be automated, scalable, and embedded into developer workflows instead of relying on manual processes.
- You're equally comfortable discussing cloud architecture, security automation, and developer experience, and you enjoy working closely with engineers to solve problems together.
You are:
- Self-driven and proactive
- Curious and constantly learning
- Comfortable taking ownership without waiting for direction
- Collaborative and approachable
- Able to influence technical decisions through expertise rather than authority
- Motivated by building solutions that benefit an entire engineering organisation
What you bring
- Hands-on experience building and operationalising security standards in an internal developer platform or cloud environment
- Experience implementing real-time security analytics and monitoring for threat detection
- Familiarity with AWS security tooling - Security Hub, Config, Secrets Manager - and policy-as-code tools like Open Policy Agent
- Understanding of network security, access management, secrets management, and container/serverless security
- Experience with incident response systems and processes
- Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills - able to influence and align across engineering, product, and legal without a mandate
- Proactive and structured, always looking for better ways to do things
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant IT field, or equivalent practical experience
- Fluent in English. Norwegian is helpful
Nice to Have
- Experience in a company that ships both hardware and software products
- Familiarity with .NET / C# codebases
- Hands-on experience with AWS in production environments
Why this role?
Security Platform Engineering is one of the fastest-growing disciplines in modern software development.
Instead of building applications, you'll build the platform that helps every engineer build better ones.
Instead of reviewing security after deployment, you'll automate it before code reaches production.
Instead of fixing recurring problems, you'll eliminate them through engineering.
You'll join a small, highly capable Platform team with significant influence across the company and plenty of room to shape how the discipline evolves at Easee.
As the platform grows, so will the opportunities to grow with it.
Who we are
Easee is a Norwegian technology company with one clear purpose:
Effortless Electrification for All.
We design smart charging and energy solutions that make electrification simpler, smarter, and more scalable.
Our culture is built around three values:
Dare — We challenge assumptions and explore new possibilities.
Care — We support each other, our partners, and our customers.
Deliver — We take ownership and follow through on our commitments.
Before you apply
This isn't a traditional security role.
We're looking for someone who wants to build the engineering platform that makes secure software the default.
If that sounds like the kind of challenge you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
