Cybersecurity Test Engineer – Consultant Assignment in Industrial IoT & Cybersecurity

We at WeQuel are now looking for a Cybersecurity Test Engineer in Luleå, where you become an important part of the client's cybersecurity and product development team with focus on securing industrial IoT solutions against cyber threats. In this role you design and implement security testing strategies and frameworks, and you work closely with the client's existing Cybersecurity Test Engineer to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

In Northern Sweden the client develops and maintains software, firmware and hardware solutions for industrial condition monitoring – IoT solutions that provide detailed machine health information and actionable insights, enabling the client's customers to predict failures and minimize downtime.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of security testing systems and test environments
  • Integration of security testing into the product development lifecycle
  • Vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and security scanning of products
  • Responsibility for test laboratory equipment and environments
  • Maintenance and improvement of test rig equipment
  • Identification, investigation and analysis of security breaches and vulnerabilities
  • Reporting of test results and support in incident response when security gaps are identified
  • Forensic investigations and root cause analyses
  • Regular system testing and risk assessments
  • Development and promotion of cybersecurity testing best practices across the organization
  • Support in customer-facing activities during development when required

You work in a dynamic environment where you independently drive your own flow forward while collaborating with several interfaces within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Cybersecurity Engineer, Test Engineer or similar role
  • University degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, spoken and written, with excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience with security testing tools, methodologies and technologies
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity risks related to digital product security
  • Knowledge of network security protocols, security architecture and IP networking
  • Experience from agile development environments
  • Self-motivated, proactive and accountable

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience testing embedded systems
  • Cybersecurity and product security standards such as EN 18031 and IEC 62443
  • Strong programming skills in C, C++ and/or Python
  • Embedded Linux and Yocto
  • Azure DevOps (ADO), Git and GitHub
  • Wi-Fi, BLE, LTE, Ethernet and eMMC
  • Wireless Mesh Networks
  • MQTT, Modbus TCP and OPC UA
  • U-Boot and Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • High attention to detail and strong interest in emerging technologies and cybersecurity threats
