You will:

  • Own the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Waabi's multi-site network (switching, routing, wireless, firewall) across all locations.
  • Lead ISP/bandwidth planning, ensuring redundant, appropriately sized throughput for all sites.
  • Manage network incident response and root-cause analysis; implement on-call coverage, escalation paths, and documented runbooks to minimize resolution time.
  • Audit and harden network configurations (loop protection, storm control, STP, MC-LAG peer health) across all sites.
  • Define and enforce network hardware/firmware standards, replacing current ad-hoc per-site configurations.
  • Maintain IP addressing, VLAN architecture, and workstation/server/security/guest segmentation.
  • Evaluate and manage zero-trust remote access tooling (Tailscale, Cloudflare, Zscaler, etc.) to meet security and monitoring requirements.
  • Support vehicle connectivity in partnership with Product Infrastructure and Fleet teams.
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure reliable, fast developer-facing network paths.
  • Scale our network to support high performing on-prem compute, storage clusters.
  • Create and maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and disaster-recovery/escalation runbooks.

Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of OSI model
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise switching, routing, and wireless platforms and lifecycle management.
  • Experience operating firewalls, VPNs, and WAN optimization for multi-site organizations.
  • Familiarity with mesh/overlay VPN and zero-trust tools.
  • Experience with IPAM and VLAN design across multiple sites.
  • Linux proficiency and IaC tooling experience (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
  • Experience with network monitoring, observability, and building on-call/incident-response processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable leading postmortems and documenting technical/non-technical findings.
  • Collaborative, resourceful mindset with a willingness to own responsibilities across sites.
  • Interest in self-driving technology and scaling infrastructure.

Bonus:

  • Experience with in-vehicle/industrial/OT networking and field hardware support.

\nThe Canada salary range for this role is: $145,000 - $177,000 CAD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi Canada Inc.'s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Note: The Company may provide additional compensation for employees in this role, including discretionary equity incentive awards and discretionary annual performance bonus.
