JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering accurate, timely, and actionable reporting and analytics in support of all departments and divisions of the Bank. This position uses IBM Cognos, SQL, Python, and related data tools to extract, validate, analyze, and present information that supports business performance, operational efficiency, regulatory awareness, and management decision-making across the organization.

- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, data extracts, and analytical deliverables using IBM Cognos, SQL, Python, and other approved reporting tools.
- Partner with business units across all departments and divisions of the Bank to understand reporting requirements, translate business needs into data solutions, and provide reliable reporting support.
- Write, optimize, and validate SQL queries to retrieve, join, and analyze data from enterprise data sources, data marts, and operational systems.
- Use Python, where appropriate, to automate data preparation, validation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
- Develop and maintain IBM Cognos reports and packages, ensuring reports are accurate, efficient, well-documented, and aligned with business requirements.
- Validate data outputs for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reasonableness; identify data quality issues and work with data owners, subject matter experts, and technology partners to resolve concerns.
- Prepare clear, concise reporting summaries and analyses that help management and business partners identify trends, monitor key metrics, and make informed decisions.
- Maintain reporting documentation, including report specifications, data definitions, source-to-report mapping, business rules, assumptions, and production schedules.
- Support regulatory, audit, compliance, finance, retail, commercial, operations, risk, and executive reporting needs as assigned.

Skills/Abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to translate business questions into accurate reporting solutions.
- Works with general direction from the Data Analyst Manager and exercises sound judgment in prioritizing reporting requests, validating results, and escalating issues when appropriate.
- Proficiency with IBM Cognos report development, SQL querying, relational databases, data validation, and Python-based analysis or automation. Familiarity with banking data, financial reporting, business intelligence concepts, and data governance practices is preferred.
- Demonstrates informal leadership by promoting reporting standards, sharing data knowledge, and helping business partners use information effectively; this role does not have direct staff management responsibilities.
- Communicates technical information clearly to non-technical audiences and prepares reporting explanations, summaries, and recommendations appropriate for business users, managers, and senior leaders.
- Maintains the confidentiality, integrity, and appropriate use of customer, employee, financial, operational, and proprietary Bank data.
- Builds effective working relationships with stakeholders across all departments and divisions of the Bank, including business lines, operations, finance, risk, compliance, technology, and executive support functions.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities and does not manage any staff.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping, or standing, as necessary.
Travel
Limited local travel may be required for this position.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Two or more years of experience in data reporting, business intelligence, data analysis, financial services, or a related analytical role preferred.
- Experience developing reports or dashboards in IBM Cognos or a comparable business intelligence platform preferred.
