abra professional services is seeking a Senior System Administrator!
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Team Lead to manage a professional technical team responsible for the availability, maintenance, and ongoing operations of enterprise storage, backup, and database environments.
In this role, you will serve as a technological focal point, leading infrastructure planning, vendor management, and cross-functional project deployments within a large-scale enterprise setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of system infrastructure engineers.
- Oversee the continuous operation, maintenance, and availability of enterprise storage, backup systems, and databases.
- Plan and deploy technological infrastructure solutions for strategic enterprise projects.
- Drive future-ready infrastructure planning, capacity management, and architecture.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects across IT, Cyber Security, and Network Communications teams.
- Manage vendor contracts, procurement, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Author technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system architectures.
- On-call availability (24/7) and flexibility for on-site support as required by business operational needs.
Requirements
Educational Background (One of the following):
- Academic degree or Practical Engineer diploma (ICT/Technology emphasis) + 6+ years of experience in storage, backup, and database systems within a large enterprise.
OR
- Completion of relevant professional training (at least 800 hours total) + 8+ years of relevant enterprise experience.
- OR
- At least 10+ years of hands-on experience in storage, backup, and database systems within a large enterprise.
Proven Experience:
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience managing storage, backup, and database environments in large, complex enterprise organizations (1000+ employees).
- Proven experience leading technical teams (managing at least 4 engineers).
- Deep operational experience with advanced Enterprise Storage solutions (e.g., Dell-EMC).
- Strong expertise in Enterprise Backup Solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Infrastructure technologies and VMware virtualization.
- Deep familiarity with Microsoft SQL/Database systems.
- Proven track record in planning and executing large-scale storage and backup upgrade/deployment projects.
