Experience Level: Mid-Level – Data Engineer with 4+ years of experience in Data analytics using Power BI, Alteryx, and SQL to drive business insights.

Role Overview: We are seeking experienced Data Engineers with strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, Alteryx, and SQL. The engineers will work with existing Power BI reports and Alteryx workflows to understand the current reporting ecosystem, analyze data flows, identify underlying databases/tables/views, and document end-to-end data lineage.

What is expected of you?

• Analyse existing Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and semantic models.

• Analyse existing Alteryx workflows and understand data ingestion and transformation logic.

• Identify the source databases, schemas, tables, views, and columns used by reports.

• Trace data from source systems through Alteryx/ETL processes into Power BI.

• Understand SQL queries, joins, filters, transformations, calculations, and aggregations.

• Map relationships between Power BI reports, datasets, Alteryx workflows, and source tables.

• Create and maintain data lineage and source-to-target mappings.

• Document existing reporting/data architecture clearly for technical and business stakeholders.

• Work with stakeholders to validate report logic and source data.

• Identify duplicate, unused, or potentially obsolete data sources where applicable.

Requirements

Must have skills:

• Must have 4+ years of experience in Power BI development and data modelling

• Power BI – Expert/Power User

• Alteryx – Expert/Power User

• SQL – Strong

• Strong understanding of relational databases

• Experience with data lineage / data mapping / data discovery

• Experience analyzing existing BI/reporting environments

• Strong understanding of ETL/data transformation concepts

• Experience with Power BI datasets/semantic models and Power Query

• Ability to reverse-engineer existing reports and data workflows

Good to Have:

• Azure / Microsoft data ecosystem

• Azure Data Factory

• SQL Server

• Data warehouse concepts
