Full description

PURPOSE: The Business Analyst Intern supports strategic decision-making by transforming business data into accurate, actionable reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other visualizations. This role will assist with data preparation, key performance indicator (KPI) development, report validation, process analysis, documentation, and communication of insights to help Dairyland identify trends, improve performance, and advance strategic priorities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1.    Design, build and maintain interactive scorecards & dashboards for cross functional partners. 2.    Develop clear, effective data visualizations that help technical and nontechnical users understand trends, performance drivers and business results. 3.    Connect, clean, transform and organize diverse datasets of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.  4.    Develop DAX measures, calculated columns to create key performance indicators that accurately reflect business definitions and reporting requirements. 5.    Conduct business process analysis, identifying areas for improvement. 6.    Review and validate reports, calculations and source data to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability. 7.    Assist in the planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with business goals. 8.    Create and maintain documentation for data sources, business definitions, calculations, report logic and user instructions. 9.    Present completed dashboards and analytical findings to technical and nontechnical audiences. 10.    Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: Currently pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree in data analytics, information systems, business analytics, data science, statistics, or another related field.

Skills:   •    Foundational knowledge of effective data visualization practices, including chart selection, layout, labeling and visual hierarchy •    Foundational knowledge of relational data, data tables and relationships •    Ability to analyze data, recognize trends and communicate findings clearly •    Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy •    Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills •    Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills •    Ability to gather requirements and work with individuals from varied technical and business backgrounds •    Ability to manage confidential information •    Ability to work independently with guidance and manage multiple priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: •    Experience developing reports or dashboards in Microsoft Power BI •    Experience with Power Query (M) in Excel or Power BI •    Experience using DAX in Power BI to create measures and calculations •    Understanding of report performance optimization, row-level security and Power BI publishing practices
