Position Overview

Innovatus is seeking an experienced Network Engineer / Communications Network Systems professional to support network systems studies, planning, design, development, and modifications of existing and planned voice and data communications network systems and subsystems in Dahlgren, VA. This role involves work across landlines, cellular/wireless, voice, video, and data networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct systems studies, including planning, design, development, and modifications of existing and planned voice and data communications network systems and subsystems.
• Support network areas such as landlines, cellphones, voice, video and data networks, and wireless communications.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and design packages using Visio, AutoCAD, and more complex network engineering tools.
• Perform analysis, capacity planning, and recommend modifications or enhancements to network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and customers to ensure designs meet operational, performance, and technical requirements.
• Support implementation, testing, and sustainment activities as needed for network systems.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of professional work experience in network areas such as landlines, cellphones, voice, video and data networks, and wireless communications.
• Experience in systems studies including planning, design, development, and modifications of existing and planned voice and data communications network systems and subsystems.
• Proficiency with Visio and AutoCAD, as well as experience with more complex network engineering tools and tasks.
• BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification. This certification must be obtained no later than ninety (90) days after Task Order award. Candidates who do not currently hold the certification must provide a written plan for attaining it no later than ninety (90) days after Task Order award.
• Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a government/DoD support environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Department of Defense or other federal government network infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards, telecommunications infrastructure design, and related best practices associated with the RCDD credential.
• Additional relevant certifications or hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies.

Additional Information

• This position is based in Dahlgren, VA, and supports contract/task order requirements.
• U.S. citizenship is typically required for roles supporting government customers in this location; eligibility for a security clearance may be required depending on the specific task order.
