Your role and responsibilities

As Engineering Manager for our Life Science DCS and Automation team, you will lead an international and well-functioning group of engineers delivering advanced automation solutions for some of the most significant Life Science projects in Denmark. As the team has grown significantly in recent years, we are now looking for an additional Engineering Manager to share leadership responsibilities and ensure that all employees receive the time, attention, and support needed to thrive and develop. You will combine people leadership, operational planning, and technical understanding to ensure successful project execution and continued competence development across the team. Your employees will be based across our Ballerup and Kalundborg locations, and you are expected to maintain a visible leadership presence at both sites during the week. Working closely with customers, project managers, and technical specialists, you will help shape the future of pharmaceutical automation while supporting a collaborative and engaging team environment.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Lead and develop a team of automation engineers working with DCS solutions for pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Build competencies within ABB 800xA, and GMP-regulated automation projects.
  • Support strategic growth of the Life Science Operations organization and its service offerings.
  • Ensure effective resource planning and allocation across projects and customer activities.
  • Drive quality delivery through coaching, technical guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to align project execution with business and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to operational planning and decision-making as part of the management team.
  • Promote employee engagement, development, and a collaborative team culture across locations.

Qualifications for the role

  • Experience leading engineering teams, projects, or technical specialists within automation or related industries.
  • Knowledge of DCS platforms such as ABB 800xA, DeltaV, Sattline, or comparable control systems.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical production environments and GxP requirements.
  • Experience supporting control system lifecycle activities, upgrades, or migration projects.
  • Ability to develop employees and create an environment focused on learning and collaboration.
  • Skilled communicator who can engage effectively with customers, engineers, and managers.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Danish.

You will have a base across our Ballerup and Kalundborg locations. As your team is distributed between both offices, regular presence at each site is expected and the role includes weekly travel between locations.
