Full description

Summary:

Anaconda recently acquired three new products that expand our portfolio significantly, and we're consolidating all pre-sales engineering under unified leadership for the first time. We're restructuring our sales engineering team into pods aligned with our sales organization, and we need a leader who can build the operating model from the ground up. You'll manage our growing team of sales engineers, set new standards for excellence, and become the primary bridge between our sales organization and technical solutions team during this pivotal growth phase.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and develop a team of sales engineers across the US and EMEA, hiring multiple new team members and establishing what great looks like
  • Build new sales engineering programs and product lines from scratch that enable our sales organization to demonstrate the value of our expanded product portfolio
  • Foster deep integration with sales pods through aligned team structure, regular collaboration, and shared accountability for deal velocity and value
  • Channel technical feedback from customer conversations to product engineering teams, ensuring field insights shape product direction
  • Establish standards for technical excellence across the team while up-leveling business acumen and customer engagement skills
  • Create sales enablement content including technical demonstrations, videos, and blog posts that help both sales teams and customers understand our platform
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with sales leadership, marketing, and product engineering to ensure alignment on priorities and execution
  • Set team direction and operating rhythms that balance technical rigor with the speed required to support high-velocity enterprise sales

Your Impact will be measured through:

  • Deal velocity and close rates achieved by your team in partnership with aligned sales pods
  • Average deal values and expansion of technical scope in customer engagements
  • Quality of relationships between sales engineers and sales leaders, measured through regular feedback and joint planning
  • Speed and effectiveness of new product line integration into sales engineering motion
  • Team retention and development of high performers into senior technical and leadership roles

What You Need:

  • Deep understanding of the sales engineer or solutions engineer role from having done it yourself, ideally selling technical products to data science, AI, or engineering buyers
  • Proven experience managing and developing technical teams with demonstrated success building high-performance cultures
  • Track record building new programs, product lines, or go-to-market motions from scratch rather than maintaining existing operations
  • Experience managing complex cross-functional relationships, particularly between technical and commercial organizations
  • History of hiring, mentoring, and developing senior engineers with focus on both technical excellence and business skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities shift and ambiguity is common

What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • You've led sales engineering or solutions engineering teams at companies selling technical products to data science, AI, or engineering buyers
  • You have hands-on experience with data science tooling, AI platforms, or developer infrastructure products similar to our portfolio
  • You've worked in environments that span cloud, on-premises, and Kubernetes deployment models
  • You bring commercial experience from customer success or sales roles that helps you bridge technical and business perspectives
  • You've thrived in startup or high-growth environments where building quickly and iterating based on feedback is the norm
  • You've worked at open-source companies or developer-focused platforms where technical credibility with customers is essential
  • You believe in a learn-by-doing approach to development, supporting your team as they take ownership of challenging customer situations
  • You embody our values: 'Curious by Default', 'Build Together', 'Own It', and 'Lead with Guts and Heart', and our behaviors: Clarity, Care and Candor
  • You care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish

Why You'll Like Working Here:

  • You'll thrive in a high-performance environment where results are recognized and rewarded
  • Your work directly contributes to shaping the future of data science, machine learning, and AI in the enterprise.
  • You'll work alongside a collaborative team that values diverse, thoughtful discussion, clarity and candor.
  • You'll be supported by a culture that puts employees first - with flexible hours, a fully remote setup, and a genuine commitment to your wellbeing and growth.
