Our mission is to empower our diverse healthcare workforce to advance in a changing environment through innovative education and training solutions. Our program and budget have doubled in scale over the last five years to provide career advancement and continuing education services to 20,000 learners annually, and we are positioned for continued growth with new partners and funding. Principal Purpose of Job: Reporting directly to the Director of Organizational Learning, the Sr Project Manager will bring advanced project management expertise to ensure organizational objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively. They will manage a portfolio of key projects and serve as a trusted project management advisor to leadership and stakeholders. The Senior Project Manager will also serve as a mentor to other project managers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to strengthen project management practices across the organization. Level of Authority: Works independently within the scope and direction of the Director of Organizational Learning in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Exercises program-level judgment, including cross-project trade-offs, risk mitigation, prioritization, and recommendations to leadership. Participates as a Leadership Team member in developing and implementing cross-functional projects that contribute to the organization’s overall success. Work Environment: Works in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions and many demands on time. Travel may be required. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Incumbent must have the skills, abilities, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation: Serve as advisor to the Leadership Team by helping evaluate, prioritize, and advance strategic projects that align with organizational goals, available resources, and cross-functional needs Provide project management leadership for complex, high-priority organizational initiatives, programs, projects, and efforts Oversee the strategic projects portfolio and initiatives, including interdependencies, priorities, risks, and resource needs across departments Report on the portfolio of projects and project activities to the Leadership Team, including data-driven recommendations, risks, trade-offs, and decisions needed Lead and manage cross-functional projects using Ed Fund’s Project Management Life Cycle and industry best practices, especially projects with high complexity, ambiguity, or organizational impact Drive standardization, continuous improvement, and adoption of the Ed Fund’s Project Management Life Cycle, tools, templates, governance practices, and reporting standards Mentor and coach associate and mid-level project managers by providing guidance, feedback, and support on project planning, stakeholder communication, risk management, and use of Ed Fund project management tools, templates, and best practices Provide administrative and project support for priority digital tools, helping staff use systems effectively, improve workflow efficiency, and reporting, and collaboration. Create, manage, and improve project documents including project charters, project plans, schedules, risk / issue / decision logs, business requirements documents (BRDs), close-out documents, action items, and executive dashboards Schedule and manage project team meetings, including creation of agendas, meeting minutes, action tracking, and decision documentation Create and maintain project executive dashboards; anticipate, escalate, and resolve risks and issues with appropriate leadership involvement Develop presentation materials and facilitate various meetings including knowledge sharing sessions, lunch & learns, workshops, steering committees, and leadership briefings Review current business processes, identify areas of improvement, and devise improvement strategies that increase project delivery effectiveness Negotiate priorities, resources, timelines, and trade-offs across departments while maintaining alignment with organizational goals QualificationsQualifications and Capabilities: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred; program management, agile, or related credentials valued BA/BS degree required; advanced degree preferred At least 7 years of progressively responsible project management experience, including complex, cross-functional projects or programs Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, interdependent workstreams, and teams across multiple locations Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to analyze, conceptualize, and evaluate information to determine relative strengths and weaknesses of ideas, proposals, risks, and project options Comfortable managing ambiguity, structuring unclear problems into actionable plans, and balancing action with the appropriate level of risk Demonstrated problem-solving leadership with limited oversight in a rapidly evolving environment Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage large cross-functional teams, and achieve outcomes without direct authority Strong ability to produce accurate and precise work, detect discrepancies, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes while meeting deadlines Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and make sound trade-off recommendations across competing organizational needs Able to analyze data, trends, and project performance indicators and provide clear recommendations to leadership Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking and executive briefing skills Ability to mentor, coach, guide, and provide constructive feedback to project managers, project leads, and cross-functional team members to strengthen project management practices, tools, templates, and best practices Must have a valid driver’s license, use a vehicle, and maintain an appropriate level of car insurance All candidates will undergo pre-employment requirements, including a criminal background check and education verification Preferred Qualifications and Capabilities: Experience leading programs or portfolios with high visibility, interdependent workstreams, and senior stakeholder engagement Experience with labor-management partnerships, workforce development, higher education, career and technical education, vocational education, certification, and credentialing relating to the healthcare labor market Experience with Salesforce, WRIKE, Zoom, and MS Office Compensation: Compensation available for the role considers various factors, including but not limited to work location, individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, and other organizational needs.
