Full description

If you’ve ever dreamt of being there when it all started, this one’s for you.

At Zeroport, we don’t throw more software layers into the abyss of the remote access stack, we go straight to the core problem; IP connectivity.

We’re building a fundamentally different approach to secure remote access - combining purpose-built hardware, robust software and a shift in how trust is enforced.

Imagine remote connectivity with no exposed network, fully malware-repellant, and inherently data-leak proof.

It sounds bold, we know. That’s exactly the point.

Who We Are

Zeroport is tackling the hardest problem in secure network access - the legacy reliance on IP connectivity. We’ve designed and built a hardware-enforced solution that enables true non-IP remote access for the first time.

We’re a focused and technical R&D team with a strong builder mentality, moving fast to change the way companies connect to the world.

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our team as our first dedicated infrastructure hire. You will play a foundational role in architecting and scaling the engine that powers our cloud services and on-premise hardware deployments.

This is a position with real ownership. You aren't just managing servers; you are designing the delivery, monitoring, and security standards for a product that must thrive in both high-scale cloud environments and strictly disconnected, air-gapped networks.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Build the Foundation: Architect and maintain our core cloud infrastructure (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring a seamless path from code to production.
  • Universal Observability: Design and deploy a "conservative" yet powerful logging, monitoring, and alerting stack (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) that works similarly in the cloud and in disconnected on-prem environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Develop portable Pulumi
  • On-Prem & Air-Gapped Strategy: Create the systems and tooling required to package, deploy, and update our software on customer environments with zero internet access.
  • Customer Infrastructure: Lead the deployment of cloud-based gateways and managed services for our enterprise clients, ensuring high availability and robust security.
  • Security & Encryption: Implement and manage critical security infrastructure, including mTLS, CA-signed certificate management, and hardened Linux service configurations.
  • Collaborate with R&D: Work closely with our networking and hardware engineers to bridge the gap between low-level connectivity and scalable cloud architecture.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, with a proven track record as a lead or founding engineer in an early-stage startup
  • The "0 to 1" Skillset: Experience building infrastructure from scratch
  • Cloud & Container Mastery: Deep proficiency with AWS (specifically ECS or EKS), Terraform/Pulumi, and Docker
  • Observability Expert: Experience building self-hosted monitoring and logging stacks that do not rely on third-party SaaS (Prometheus/Grafana is a must)
  • Networking Depth: Strong understanding of Linux networking (L3-L7), secure tunneling, and VPC configurations
  • Independent Builder: Ability to make high-level architectural decisions autonomously and execute them with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Python for building custom automation tools

Nice to Have:

  • Experience managing networking services like coturn or custom VPN gateways
  • Background in security-focused industries (Cybersecurity, Defense, or Fintech)

Why Join Us

  • Be part of designing innovative solutions for some of the toughest challenges in network security
  • Flexible work setup, minimal bureaucracy
  • Real ownership and impact from day one
  • A collaborative and innovative work culture
  • Competitive salary and benefits

Let's build it together!

Even if you don’t meet every requirement - we’d still love to hear from curious, motivated people.
