Apple’s Music Apps team is looking for a passionate Technical Writer or Content Designer to drive customer-facing text experiences across our iOS and macOS applications. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who pairs excellent writing craft and hands-on music production expertise with deep experience leveraging Large Language Model (LLM) technologies to generate, iterate, and polish content.

In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end user guidance, spanning Help deliverables, learning materials, instructional features, and in-app UX strings. The ideal candidate is self-organized and thrives in a dynamic team environment that demands high quality, creativity, and consistency.

Description

  • Responsible for customer-facing text deliverables across Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage, and companion apps, including Help documentation, learning materials, instructional features, and in-app UX strings.
  • Leverages LLM technologies and prompt-assisted workflows to accelerate text generation while critically reviewing, editing, and curating output for voice, tone, technical accuracy, and conciseness.
  • Crafts intuitive UI strings, tooltips, onboarding flows, and instructional features that integrate seamlessly into the product experience.
  • Partners closely with design, engineering, and product teams to independently research new features and convert complex, abstract technical concepts into intuitive, workflow-driven guidance.
  • Develops innovative, scalable solutions to help both beginner and professional musicians learn and master our technologies.
  • Collaborates with international teams across multiple projects with overlapping milestones and release cycles.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated professional experience in the music tech industry in a customer communication-focused position such as technical writing, UX writing/content design, or instructional design. Proven ability to write clear, concise in-app UX strings and microcopy, step-by-step instructional guides, and comprehensive Help documentation. Hands-on experience using generative AI tools, prompt engineering, and LLM-assisted pipelines to research, draft, edit, and scale high-quality, customer-facing content. Experience building or utilizing LLM tooling (such as RAG for automated terminology compliance, style checks, or ground truth generation) is a strong plus. Deep knowledge of music production workflows on iOS and macOS, with hands-on experience in Apple’s music apps (Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage) strongly preferred. Proficient in modern content management and version control systems (Git/SVN). Hands-on experience with structured text formats (Markdown, HTML/XML, JSON) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Musical background/proficiency in music theory, sound design, or audio engineering is a strong bonus. High attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
