We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Data Scientist to join our team, based at our Aerocity office in Delhi, India.

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and AI to extract valuable insights from our extensive data assets. You will play a crucial part in designing and maintaining key components of our data pipelines, ensuring the deployment and upkeep of our advanced models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Data team to develop and enhance data pipelines using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and tools such as NLTK and SpaCy.
  • Design, build, and validate AI/ML models to identify entities and accurately map them to JATO's internal datasets across multiple use cases and data sources.
  • Expand and improve existing capabilities to process and analyse both text and image-based data.
  • Support the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of AI and machine learning solutions in production environments.
  • Contribute actively within the Data Science team by sharing knowledge, best practices, technical expertise, and innovative ideas.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to deliver meaningful data visualisations, insights, and analytical solutions that support decision-making.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends and advancements in AI, with a particular focus on Large Language Models (LLMs), Small Language Models (SLMs), Prompt Engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Agentic AI approaches.

Key Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in Data Science, AI, or a similar analytical discipline.
  • Hands-on professional experience with AI engineering, including AI agents, LLMs, chatbot development, prompt engineering, and model fine-tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of NLP techniques and modern machine learning approaches.
  • Proficiency in the end-to-end data science lifecycle, including data preparation, modelling, evaluation, and insight generation.
  • Proficiency with Python and/or R, and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Passion for solving complex business problems through data-driven research and analysis.
  • Fluent in English, combined with excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of Databricks and modern data science environments.
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Practical experience with AI agents, prompt engineering, and generative AI applications.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
  • Experience with business process automation tools such as Power Automate or Zapier.

Final Interview- In the final stage, you’ll meet with the Hiring Manager and the team to discuss your technical task, explore your approach and thought process, and assess overall fit for the team. This stage will also support the final selection decision. It's a great opportunity for you to get a better feel of the team and ask any questions!
