We are looking for a Data Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade data pipelines supporting the organisation’s Travel vertical. This role ensures high-quality data extraction from D365 F&O into Azure Data Lake (ADLS Gen2) and modern analytics platforms (Microsoft Fabric / Azure Synapse / PowerBI). The role includes building reliable data transformations, understanding AxDB structures and finance domain concepts, and supporting subscription-based analytics solutions. While the primary focus is D365 F&O data engineering, the position incorporates emerging AI-assisted development practices to enhance CI/CD efficiency and development quality.
- Strong 3 to 4 years of experience with Dynamics 365 F&O, AxDB schema, tables, entities, and integration concepts.
- Good understanding of Finance and subledger data structures in D365 F&O.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse / Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Link or Fabric Link, ADLS Gen2, and PySpark/Spark.
- Ability to build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines in enterprise environments.
- Strong capability in working with financial data (journals, ledgers, invoices, customer/vendor transactions).
- Working knowledge of Dataverse and Power Platform components relevant to Dynamics.
Nice to Have Skills
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, version control, branching, PRs, and deployment pipelines (nice-to-have).
- Awareness of CI/CD, YAML pipelines, deployment automation, and reusable engineering templates.
- Exposure to Power BI, data modelling, and analytics concepts.
- Basic understanding of X++, cloud-hosted development environments, and other Dynamics platforms (CE/Sales, Business Central).
- Experience with third-party data feeds (Example- Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn, Google Ads) is advantageous.
- Ability to leverage Copilot, GitHub-Copilot, or similar AI tools for development acceleration, documentation, and automation support.
- Design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines from Dynamics 365 F&O to ADLS Gen2 using Synapse Link or Fabric Link.
- Develop and optimize transformation logic in Azure Synapse or Microsoft Fabric using Spark/PySpark.
- Analyse AxDB structures and F&O data entities to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Implement scalable, reusable data models for reporting, analytics products, and downstream systems.
- Ensure strong data quality, governance, lineage, and reliability across Travel systems.
- Contribute to subscription-based analytics development by maintaining consistent Fabric/Synapse dataflows, Lakehouse tables, and curated datasets.
- Collaborate with BI teams to ensure analytical outputs are well-modelled, accurate, and performance-optimized.
- Apply functional understanding of core finance processes such as GL, COA, invoicing, billing, and sales orders while translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Work closely with Finance and Operations teams to interpret requirements and deliver suitable data engineering solutions.
- Support integrations between Dynamics 365 F&O, Dataverse, and related systems, with an understanding of Dataverse structures and synchronization patterns.
