As a member of the Retail Business Analyst team, support key business stakeholders and the Retail Planning & Allocation function by providing meaningful analyses, actionable insights, and clear recommendations to promote a data-driven approach for business decisions.
In collaboration with the Markdown team, this position plays a critical role in maximizing sell-through, supporting margin improvement and enhancing overall retail performance, by analysing sales trends, identifying underperforming items, and recommending data‑driven actions for markdowns strategies.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with the Retail Business Analyst team to identify information gaps and analytical opportunities that support business decision making
- Thanks to an analytical data-driven approach support the management and Retail Planning & Allocation teams, identifying trends, risk/opportunities and improvement areas
- Provide clear KPIs, analysis, business insights and call out to support a rapid response to evolving market conditions
- In a logic of continuous improvement, review and optimize existing reports and analysis adapting them to the new needs coming from an extremely dynamic industry
- Proactively and effectively contribute and promote efficiency improvement through automation in processes and analysis
- Collaborates proactively with the Technologies teams to find the best technical solutions to support the business information needs and to ensure data quality
- As part of the team responsible for markdown activities, play a key role in the discount decision and implementation, by closely monitoring trends at country/product performance, providing analysis and simulations to evaluate the impact on sales, margin and inventory, while ensuring alignment with the targets
- Develop and recommend markdown strategies based on sales performance, margin, inventory objectives and business priorities
- Drive the implementation and effective use of the company’s AI-powered Markdown Optimization Tool enabling pricing decisions based on advanced analytics, business rules, and predictive insights
- Leverage predictive analytics and AI insights to assess pricing scenarios, anticipate sell‑through trends, optimize markdown timing and discount depth, and maximize both margin and inventory productivity
- Experience: 2-3 years as Business Analyst or similar roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Retail Management, Statistics, Engineering or related field
- Experience with business intelligence, reporting/analytics tools (such as Strategy or PowerBI)
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Excel and VBA skills to facilitate data analysis and critical problem solving
- Ability to successfully mine data, create ad hoc advance reporting, automations and AI-enabled solutions
- Fast learner, strong analytical mind-set, with the ability to interpret and analyse large data sets to drive data-driven key business decisions
- Sense of ownership, proactivity and a solution-oriented mindset, thinks outside the box
- Excellent execution, high respect of deadlines and strong organizational skills, good level of proactivity and effective problem solver
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously, using resources effectively and drive for results in a fast paced, growth environment
- Experience in working in a busy environment, adapt to changes and work under pressure
- Established ability to build and maintain effective working relationships to drive collaboration, teamwork and business results
- Good communication skills with the ability to translate data into clear business actions
- Knowledge of retail KPIs (sell-through, margins, markdown efficiency, stock coverage)
- Previous experience in Fashion Retail industry is a plus
- Fluency in English (written & spoken)
