Evernorth, a leading Health Services company, is looking for exceptional data engineer in our Data and Analytics organization. In this role, you will actively participate with your development team on initiatives that support Evernorth's strategic goals as well as subject matter experts to understand business logic you will be engineering. As a software engineer, you will help develop an integrated architectural strategy to support next-generation capabilities on an enterprise-wide scale. We are seeking an expert Data Engineer at the Senior Manager level with hands-on experience working with Snowflake. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Big Data technologies, including Apache Spark (Python or Scala), and expertise in orchestration and integration tools such as Apache Airflow or NiFi, or DBT. Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS, is essential for designing and implementing scalable data pipelines in the cloud. This individual will play a critical role in managing teams of data engineers, coordinate cross-functionally, and influence organizational data strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, vision, and architectural/design direction for the team.
- Leads the team in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Aligns engineering solutions with the Technology strategy and supports the application’s requirements.
- Plans and implements procedures to maximize engineering and operating efficiency for application integration technologies.
- Identifies opportunities and drives process improvements.
- Takes accountability for the technology assets owned by the team.
- Provides leadership to the team to achieve the following objectives:• Design, configuration, implementation of middleware products and application design/development within the supported technologies and products.
- Proactive monitoring and management design of supported assets assuring performance, availability, security, and capacity.
- Maximize the efficiency (operational, performance, and cost) of the application assets.
- Take risks and champion new ideas.
- Have a quality mindset, not just code quality but also to ensure ongoing data quality by monitoring data to identify problems before they have business impact.
Qualifications
Primary Skills:
- Proven expertise in designing relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data models.
- Hands-on expertise with Snowflake, Delta Lake, Apache Spark, and SQL.
- Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, Power Designer, dbt, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and modern data platforms.
- Ability to model data schemas for both short-term and long-term requirements.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data integration patterns.
Required Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong influencing/negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills.
- Strong time and project management skills.
- Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership.
- Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example.
Required Experience & Education:
- 15+ years of Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Python and Spark.
- 5+ years of Data Management & SQL experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in AWS.
- 3+ year Experience in Snowflake.
- Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and data governance.
- Working knowledge of Gen-AI tools.
- Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions.
- College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
- Industry certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or Six Sigma Green Belt.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with version management tools – Git preferred
- Experience with BDD and TDD development methodologies
- Experience working in an agile CI/CD environment; Jenkins experience preferred
- Knowledge and / or experience with Health care information domains preferred
- Coaching team members
Location & Hours of Work
- Full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate
- Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India in a hybrid working model (3 days WFO and 2 days WAH)
