Position Summary
As a key member of the Procurement & Supply Chain Finance team, the Financial Analyst II provides financial analysis, reporting, and financial planning support across a diverse procurement and supply chain portfolio. The role supports financial stewardship through budgeting, forecasting, reporting, financial modelling, rebate administration, and operational analysis. Working independently under broad direction, the successful candidate will leverage data, reporting tools, and analytical solutions to support decision making, enhance reporting processes,and drive continuous improvement across the portfolio.
Duties:
- Prepare monthly financial reports, reconciliations, journal entries, variance analyses, and supporting working papers to support financial stewardship and month-end activities.
- Prepare and support annual budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and financial reporting for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Perform financial analysis, financial modelling, rebate analysis, and business case assessments to support operational and strategic decision making.
- Analyze large volumes of financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, models, and other analytical solutions to improve financial visibility and decision support.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardize processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance financial and operational reporting.
- Support rebate administration, allocation methodologies, contract tracking, and related financial reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate issues, resolve inquiries, and provide financial and analytical support to inform decision making.
- Perform cross-functional duties and other duties consistent with the job classification
Qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, financial analysis, or business reporting, including experience performing financial analysis, working with large datasets, and supporting operational or business decision making
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with demonstrated experience working with large datasets and developing financial models, reporting solutions, and analytical tools
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query, reporting automation, Microsoft Copilot, or similar analytical tools is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience improving processes, developing analytical solutions, or enhancing financial and operational reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, investigate issues, and support operational and financial decision making
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and communicate financial information to a variety of stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA completion would be considered an asset
