Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Software Engineering, to join our development team. In this position, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications. You will collaborate with other engineers to implement innovative solutions, provide technical guidance to our development team, and ensure that the software meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

The Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for overseeing the activities of the Software Development team to ensure work productivity, timeline delivery and code quality. They oversee the day-to-day operations of the Development Teams and perform code reviews, maintain the team’s Agile backlog, and develop, support, and debug applications within the RMS architecture in a pleasant, collaborative team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the Development team through a full Agile SDLC
• Manage day-to-day operations of Team Leads and Team Members
• Perform employee training and evaluation
• Determine staffing needs and assist in hiring for the Development team
• Upgrade, develop and integrate existing code
• Develop new software
• Work in a small team environment to accomplish long-term goals
• Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices
• Strong DevOps focus and experience building and deploying infrastructure with cloud deployment technologies like ansible, chef, puppet, etc.
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong back-end development skills with Java and C#
• Suitable educational background
• Strong understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns
• Experience with LLMs and AI development methodologies a large plus
• Experience with TDD, code testability standards, JUnit/Mockito
• Experience with Containerization
• Familiarity with SQL Databases (SQL/Stored Procedures, ORM tools)
• Experience with modern JavaScript Frameworks
• Scripting and working in a Linux environment,
• Experience with high volume, mission critical applications
• Familiarity with Design Patterns and their uses
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consultative skills
• Familiarity with C/C++ or other programing languages
• Experience with version control (GIT, CVS)

Education/Experience

• Experience in a leadership role required (1-3 years)
• Professional Development experience preferred
• Bachelor of Science degree in related field preferred

Environmental Conditions

Indoor climate-controlled environment. Moderate to quiet noise level

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in the written form. The employee is physically required to utilize a laptop and other electronic devices effectively. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (laptop computer, bag, and accessories).
