Job Description
We're seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the Borrower Experience workstream, a top company priority to streamline the process of applying for a loan, getting an instant offer, completing many of the steps to close a loan in a self-guided digital experience where our expert loan officers are only a click away. This application process is the front door for how we meet many potential borrowers, whether they’re coming from organic traffic on a site like Lower or Movoto, a partnership, or other paid channels. It’s a business-critical product surface with the opportunity to make an outsized impact on our business.
This is an individual contributor role reporting to EVP of Program and Product Management for Lower. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major feature sets within the workstream, as well as write and refine detailed requirements for a cross-functional team. You’ll define what success looks like beyond shipping, like improving conversion throughout the application funnel and into Lower's mortgage products, automatically ingesting borrower information to reduce friction, and progressively improving a borrower’s ability to self-serve. You'll present regularly to execs to align on strategy, tradeoffs, and progress.
Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy for the borrower experience, translating an established long-term vision (closing a loan entirely online) into a sequenced, shippable crawl/walk/run roadmap from current state.
- Use customer data, market context, and business goals to prioritize the roadmap and anticipate borrower needs and competitive positioning.
- Build and maintain alignment across the cross-functional team (engineering, design, data) from sprint rituals to leadership updates.
- Make sound tradeoffs even with incomplete data on evolving systems in collaboration with the cross-functional team and vendors.
- Proactively unblock the cross-functional team and adjust plans as constraints evolve; define success by measurable outcomes, not just shipped features.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of end-to-end delivery for a complex, consumer-facing or data-driven product.
- Track record of managing ambiguity: defining MVP scope and sequencing a roadmap in phases rather than waiting for full clarity.
- Strong analytical skills, with comfort defining and tracking success metrics tied to business outcomes, not just output.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to flex between exec-level updates and detailed technical requirements.
- Fintech, mortgage, or real estate industry experience.
Strongly Preferred (but not required)
- Experience partnering across multiple engineering orgs or codebases at once (e.g., separate frontend, backend, and platform teams).
- Experience with personalization, recommendation, or pricing/offer engines.
Location
With locations in Columbus, OH and Austin, TX, we're looking for someone able to work in-person on a hybrid basis. While in market candidates will be reviewed first, we are open to considering remote candidates who demonstrate an exceptional level of product expertise, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills, with willingness to travel periodically.
