Full description

Project Manager, Growth & Special Projects

If you are the operator who notices a product launch is stuck, figures out who owns the next step, and gets the team moving before revenue is lost, this is a rare seat next to a founder-CEO scaling a fast-moving consumer-products business across ecommerce, retail, omnichannel, product development, marketing, partnerships, and operations. You will be the internal glue for the CEO’s highest-priority growth projects: turning ideas, meetings, open loops, and cross-functional handoffs into clear plans, owners, deadlines, and completed work.

The Opportunity

A founder-led consumer-products company is building the people, processes, and operating rhythm needed for its next stage of growth. The CEO currently carries too many growth projects, follow-ups, and handoffs personally. Your mandate is to reduce founder dependency by creating visibility, accountability, and momentum across the projects that matter most.

This is not an executive assistant role. You will not be responsible for routine inbox management, calendar ownership, Slack administration, travel coordination, or personal-assistant duties. This is a hands-on project management and business operations role for someone who can absorb context quickly, keep stakeholders aligned, and move work forward without waiting to be chased.

Long term, the company’s ambition is to help scale a major business unit from approximately $10M toward $100M over five years. This role is built for someone who wants to grow into greater strategic project ownership through an individual-contributor path: Project Manager to Senior Project Manager to Strategic Project Manager.

What You Will Own

CEO Growth Portfolio and Operating Cadence

  • Build and maintain a clear priority dashboard across growth initiatives, product launches, retail, omnichannel, marketing, operations, finance, recruiting, partnerships, and special projects.
  • Turn verbal direction, meetings, emails, notes, and open loops into actions with an owner, deadline, blocker, and expected result.
  • Run a disciplined daily and weekly cadence around priorities, active projects, decisions, risks, and next steps.
  • Prepare concise project briefs, decision points, status updates, and recommended next actions for the CEO.
  • Help distinguish what is urgent, what is important, what should move now, and what should be pushed later.

Project Management and Accountability

  • Maintain a current view of priority projects, including scope, owner, timeline, dependencies, risks, and next action.
  • Create agendas, project plans, decision logs, and follow-up trackers that make work easier to execute.
  • Hold assigned owners accountable for commitments and deadlines with professionalism and tact.
  • Escalate missed deliverables, unclear ownership, blocked work, and meaningful risks early.
  • Step in to coordinate resources, unblock next steps, and keep projects moving without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

Product Launch and Cross-Functional Execution

  • Coordinate initiatives across retail, ecommerce, marketing, product development, design, shipping, warehouse, operations, finance, legal, recruiting, agencies, and external partners.
  • Keep product launches moving from product selection and revisions through production, inbound goods, photography/assets, packaging, team communication, and launch readiness.
  • Maintain visibility into retailer deliverables, packaging timelines, agency work, contracts, recruiting needs, financial reviews, and executive-level projects.
  • Identify stalled work early, clarify who owns the next step, and drive resolution before delays turn into lost momentum or revenue.
  • Create lightweight processes and SOPs where recurring work currently depends on memory, informal follow-up, or founder intervention.

Decision and Information Support

  • Synthesize competing inputs into short, decision-ready summaries that separate facts, assumptions, risks, and recommendations.
  • Track decisions and make sure downstream communication and execution happen.
  • Maintain organized records for strategic plans, products, partners, launches, customer issues, organizational planning, and key projects.
  • Notice patterns such as repeated bottlenecks, missed commitments, unclear ownership, or unnecessary CEO involvement, then recommend practical fixes.

What This Role Does Not Own

  • Routine inbox, Slack, calendar, travel, or personal-assistant responsibilities.
  • Retail sales strategy, buyer relationships, or retailer P&L ownership.
  • Functional leadership of marketing, product, finance, operations, retail, or omnichannel teams.
  • Being the catch-all owner for work that belongs to an accountable functional leader.
  • A purely advisory role where ideas are not carried through to execution.
