IAM Security Engineer 

Help protect Australia's critical energy infrastructure. 

At APA, we're looking for an IAM Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security team and play a key role in securing identity and access across our enterprise. You'll help operate, support and improve our Identity and Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) capabilities under approved standards and processes, supporting secure and compliant access to systems, applications and data. 

What you'll be doing 

• Administer and support IAM, PAM and IGA platforms across the business 

• Manage and support user Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML) processes including access requests and reviews, access governance, compliance activities, and privileged access processes 

• Troubleshoot and resolve IAM-related identity lifecycle, access request and revalidation, and authentication and authorisation issues across supported IAM services and integrations 

• Support, maintain and contribute to improvements for Delinea PAM, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Identity Governance services 

• Automate processes and improve operational efficiency using PowerShell and other scripting tool 

• Support integration of IAM services with enterprise applications, cloud services and third-party platforms 

• Participate in incident response, platform maintenance, upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives 

What you'll bring 

• Tertiary qualifications in IT, Cyber Security or a related field 

• Proven experience in IAM engineering, administration or service delivery 

• Hands-on experience with IAM, PAM or IGA technologies in enterprise environments 

• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and identity infrastructure 

• Experience troubleshooting authentication, authorisation and access governance issues 

• Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and/or Python 

• Experience with Delinea (preferred), CyberArk or similar PAM solutions 

• Exposure to Microsoft Identity Governance, SailPoint, Okta or equivalent platforms is highly regarded 

• Excellent communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with application owners, technology teams and end users
