About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer with a proven background in Ruby on Rails development to help drive the continued growth of our Engineering team. You'll have the opportunity to work on a modern, scalable platform, solve complex technical challenges, and play a key role in delivering high-quality products.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to build, maintain, and improve applications that deliver real value to our customers. As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will contribute to feature development, system improvements, and technical problem-solving while continuing to grow your skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Ruby on Rails applications and backend services.

• Build and maintain APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver new features and improvements.

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and production issues.

• Support application performance, reliability, and scalability improvements.

• Contribute to testing, deployment, and continuous integration processes.

• Document technical solutions and share knowledge with the wider team.

• Continuously develop your technical skills and stay current with industry best practices.

What We're Looking For

• Commercial experience developing applications using Ruby on Rails.

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software engineering principles.

• Experience with React or TypeScript.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.

• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Experience working with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD practices.

• Experience using Git and collaborating within an Agile development environment.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative environment.

• Fluent English communication skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of Docker and containerised applications.

• Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Redis, or Elasticsearch.

• Experience working within SaaS, e-commerce, or technology-focused businesses.
