Overview: OMNI is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to support documentation and publication needs for government programs. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing a variety of technical and administrative documents, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and tailored to the intended audience. This role requires close collaboration with supervisors, program/project managers, and customers to refine requirements and deliver high-quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and edit technical materials including reports, manuals, briefs, technical specifications, instruction books, catalogs, and related publications.
- Produce documentation covering work methods, procedures, installation, operation, and/or maintenance of equipment and systems.
- Draft a variety of technical articles, brochures, and manuals for multiple uses.
- Coordinate document design and graphics production with the customer.
- Proof, standardize, and edit documents to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with style guidelines.
- Create and format executive-level presentations.
- Develop and update content for brochures, briefings, technical papers, and organizational websites.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, with at least 4 years of technical writing experience for the Federal Government.
- Education may be waived with 8 or more years of relevant technical writing experience.
- Minimum 4 years of demonstrated proficiency in writing and editing with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, and set expectations effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and professional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint.
- Active Top Secret clearance required
