As the Senior iOS Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a small team of iOS engineers to build and maintain secure, high-performance, and customer-focused mobile banking applications. You will define the technical vision for the iOS platform, drive engineering excellence, and ensure the delivery of scalable mobile solutions that meet regulatory, security, and business requirements.
You will work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, Backend Engineers, Security teams, and Engineering Leadership to create industry-leading digital banking experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Define and own the iOS mobile architecture and technical roadmap.
- Drive adoption of modern iOS development practices, frameworks, and design patterns.
- Lead the development of secure, scalable, and maintainable mobile applications.
- Establish coding standards, architecture guidelines, and engineering best practices.
- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
- Drive continuous improvement of mobile performance, quality, and reliability.
Team Leadership & People Management
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of iOS engineers.
- Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support career development.
- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent.
- Lead technical decision-making and resolve complex engineering challenges.
Product Delivery
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of mobile features from concept through production release.
- Ensure timely delivery of roadmap commitments while maintaining engineering quality.
- Balance customer experience, technical debt, scalability, and delivery priorities.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to banking-grade security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement secure coding practices and mobile application security controls.
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities and risks.
- Support audits, penetration testing, and compliance initiatives.
Engineering Excellence
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing automation, and release processes.
- Define and monitor application performance and operational metrics.
- Establish observability, monitoring, and incident management practices.
- Drive a culture of quality through automated testing and continuous integration.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in iOS development.
- 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in Swift and modern iOS development frameworks.
- Deep understanding of UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine, Concurrency (Async/Await), and iOS platform capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of mobile application architecture patterns including MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Modular Architecture.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, testing strategies, and performance optimization.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in banking, fintech, payments, digital wallets, or regulated industries.
- Experience building mission-critical, high-availability mobile applications.
- Familiarity with Open Banking APIs and financial services ecosystems.
- Knowledge of mobile security standards including:
- OAuth 2.0
- OpenID Connect
- Certificate Pinning
- Device Binding
- Biometric Authentication
- Secure Keychain Storage
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience managing distributed or geographically diverse engineering teams
