Open-Source Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Open-Source Database Administrator (DBA). The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, management, optimization and securing of the open-source database environments that power critical business applications.

The role will focus primarily on PostgreSQL while supporting other open-source and cloud database technologies, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliable database operations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with business owners, developers, DevOps, infrastructure and SecOps teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of the organization's data assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support PostgreSQL and other

open-source databases.

• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and migrate

database environments.

• Design and maintain high-availability,

replication, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.

• Manage Oracle GoldenGate replication and

troubleshoot replication issues. Monitor database performance, capacity, and availability.

• Automate database administration using

scripting, IaC, and CI/CD tools. Support 24/7 production environments and participate in on-call rotations.

• Implement database security, access controls,

and encryption.

• Collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, SecOps,

developers, and business teams.

• Maintain database documentation and operational

standards.

• 5+ years' PostgreSQL / Open-Source Database

• Degree in STEM or equivalent experience

• EDB PostgreSQL Certification (Advantageous)
