Senior QA Engineer – Mobile Testing (iOS & Android)

We’re partnering with a world-leading sporting goods brand to find a Senior QA Engineer with deep expertise in mobile testing to join its global technology team.

As Senior QA Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping testing strategy, mentoring other AQA engineers, and driving quality across the mobile apps using both manual and automated frameworks.

About the role You’ll bring significant experience testing mobile applications at scale, IoT, or connected devices. You know QA best practices inside out, and you also have the judgment to adapt processes when needed. Beyond finding and troubleshooting issues, you’ll design scalable test solutions, contribute to architectural discussions, and push for continuous improvement across the engineering organisation.

How you’ll make a difference

• Own the design and implementation of comprehensive mobile test strategies, frameworks, and practices

• Lead QA efforts across multiple mobile projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and consistent test coverage

• Review app requirements, architecture, and design to improve testability and influence product direction

• Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers and help them grow their skills

• Design, develop, and run advanced automated and manual test cases for Android and iOS using Katalon and Appium

• Lead functional, regression, integration, smoke, performance, and stress testing on real devices and emulators

• Work closely with developers, UX/UI, product managers, and other stakeholders to raise product quality and the rider experience

• Spot gaps in test coverage and introduce improvements to QA processes and tooling

• Manage UAT with business users and keep feedback cycles high-quality

• Report test results, risks, and recommendations clearly to leadership

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years’ experience in software quality assurance and testing

• 5+ years’ experience in mobile app testing (iOS and Android)

• A proven track record of leading test automation initiatives for large-scale, consumer-facing mobile apps

• Hands-on experience with Katalon Studio and Appium for advanced test automation

• Strong knowledge of mobile QA methodologies, testing tools, and test environment management

• Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, device- and emulator-based testing, and connected hardware (Bluetooth, sensors, OTA updates)

• Solid understanding of REST APIs, React-based mobile apps, and hardware/software integration

• Experience setting up and optimising CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into release processes (e.g. GitHub Actions)

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Experience designing and maintaining scalable test frameworks and reusable test assets

• Strong communication skills and a track record of influencing product and technical decisions

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and agile ways of working

Nice to have

• Experience leading mobile performance, scalability, and security testing

• Hands-on experience with other mobile automation frameworks (Espresso, XCTest, etc.)

• Experience testing IoT or connected hardware products
