Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, SQL, and cloud technologies.

Current Canadian Java roles commonly emphasize Java/Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL, Git/CI/CD, Agile, and cloud/container technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.

• Develop scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.

• Work with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

• Design and optimize database queries and data access layers.

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.

• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

• Support application deployment and production issues.

• Follow Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product, and other development teams.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience

• Strong knowledge of Core Java / Java 8+

• Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot

• Hands-on experience with Microservices Architecture

• Strong knowledge of REST APIs

• Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate

• Good knowledge of SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle

• Experience with Git

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar

• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Preferred Skills

• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Docker and Kubernetes

• Kafka or other messaging technologies

• NoSQL databases such as MongoDB

• Spring Security, OAuth2, and JWT

• JUnit / Mockito

• Swagger / OpenAPI

• Experience with production support and monitoring

• Knowledge of cloud-native application development

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

• Must be currently eligible to work in Canada.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

• Willingness to work in remote or hybrid environments, depending on the client requirement.
