The Opportunity

Senior Project Manager leads the execution of projects and ensures that all related activities are performed in accordance with company policies, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments.

Supports the organization in process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution.

How you will make an impact:

  •  Leading the project team, establishing the project execution approach and overseeing project hand-over, execution planning, monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals. 
  • Health & Safety, Environment: Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Acting as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues 
  • Controlling the project: Defines, jointly with Project Controls department, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans. Ensures that all planning activities are performed properly by the assigned project team(s). Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization. Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Identifies, qualifies, quantifies and manages project risks, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Captures, analyzes and shares lessons learned throughout the project. 
  • Contract management: Ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and contractual agreements.
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain Management, and successfully procures all required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. Supports Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes.
  • Coordinates with Construction & Commissioning, and successfully deliver all construction, installation, and commissioning activities in accordance with the project schedule. Supports Construction & commissioning in subcontractors or partners negotiations, claims and project changes.
  • Ensures that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience managing large EPC projects in the energy or industrial sector.
  • Skilled in navigating complex contractual setups with clients and partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple teams. Influential communicator with leadership presence.
  • Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Financial acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Familiar with risk, schedule, and change management.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on results and collaboration.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%
  • PMI Certification will be an added value
