About the role

We are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator (50%) to join a technical team supporting modern, distributed database environments.

The role combines database administration, cloud technologies, automation and performance management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy and operate database environments supporting distributed applications
  • Manage both relational and non-relational databases
  • Support database platforms across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Ensure data consistency, availability and performance
  • Contribute to database automation using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, backup and high-availability solutions
  • Perform performance optimisation and troubleshooting
  • Contribute to data governance and security requirements
  • Work closely with infrastructure, development and security teams

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience as a Database Administrator in modern cloud or hybrid environments
  • Good knowledge of SQL Server, Azure SQL, MongoDB or equivalent technologies
  • Experience with distributed and cloud-native database architectures
  • Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, backup and performance optimisation
  • Experience with database automation and DevOps practices
  • Experience in multi-cloud environments
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD
  • Experience with Master Data Management or data governance
  • Good understanding of data integration and event-driven architectures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
