This Opportunity
WSP USA, Inc. is seeking a Carolinas Senior Water Resources Project Manager to provide senior technical, project, and client leadership for our North Carolina Water Resources team. This role may be based in Raleigh, Charlotte, or Wilmington, with a focus on supporting complex flood resilience, stormwater, and coastal projects across North Carolina and the broader Carolinas region. Our Water Resources practice area encompasses drainage and stormwater management, green infrastructure design and stormwater management, coastal and fluvial resiliency, stormwater conveyance, and site civil design.
You will help guide and mentor staff across our North Carolina water resources team, provide senior technical direction on complex projects, support strong project delivery, and strengthen trusted relationships with key clients. In this role, you will be part of the delivery of transformational projects for municipalities, agencies, developers and institutions in the Carolinas. - Support resource planning across offices to align project needs with available technical expertise and staff development opportunities.
- Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Contribute to focused client and project development strategies that align with local market needs and the strengths of our North Carolina water resources team.
- Strengthen strategic accounts and drive exceptional client care within the Carolinas water resources practice area.
- Help identify and position WSP for high-quality opportunities that align with our technical strengths, client relationships, and team capacity.
- Provide end-to-end pursuit leadership for key opportunities: own capture plans, positioning, and win strategies.
- Support decision-making on strategic pursuits by providing technical, client, and delivery insight to help WSP focus on the right opportunities.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and inspire cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- 15 years of post-education experience in water resources engineering, with at least 10 years of related experience in the Carolinas.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) in North Carolina or South Carolina.
- Candidate must have strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care and project work-related issues.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proven history of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Travel within the Carolinas region, with potential for travel beyond region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or business management.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) in multi-states.
