This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Cybersecurity Operations and Platform Delivery based in United States.

This is a senior leadership opportunity at the intersection of cybersecurity strategy, operations, technology, and business growth.You will lead cybersecurity operations while helping define the evolution of security platforms, services, and capabilities.The role combines operational leadership with client advisory, technology strategy, service innovation, and executive engagement.You will guide incident response, strengthen security operations, evaluate emerging technologies, and influence strategic investments.Working across technical teams, business leaders, sales, account management, and clients, you will turn complex security challenges into actionable plans.The ideal leader thrives in ambiguity, builds accountability, and can influence outcomes without relying solely on formal authority.This remote role offers substantial ownership and visibility, with the opportunity to shape both cybersecurity capabilities and future service offerings.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the cybersecurity operations and platform delivery function, aligning security capabilities with business objectives, client needs, and evolving technology priorities.
  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for cybersecurity operations, security platforms, incident response, and service capabilities.
  • Assess existing cybersecurity environments, identify gaps and opportunities, and establish practical plans to improve operational maturity and effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership for incident response strategy and serve as a senior escalation point for significant security incidents and complex cybersecurity issues.
  • Advise executives, business leaders, and clients on cybersecurity risks, priorities, technology decisions, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with sales and account management teams on strategic client opportunities, helping translate security capabilities into compelling solutions and business outcomes.
  • Influence the evolution of cybersecurity services and offerings, identifying opportunities for innovation, differentiation, and sustainable growth.
  • Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies, platforms, vendors, and partnerships and help determine where strategic investments can create meaningful value.
  • Build strong relationships across technical, operational, commercial, and executive teams while driving alignment and accountability.
  • Lead teams, programs, initiatives, and transformation efforts, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Balance cybersecurity risk with business priorities, revenue considerations, customer experience, and operational realities.
  • Provide occasional after-hours support for significant security incidents or escalations and travel periodically based on client and business needs.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in cybersecurity leadership, security operations, technology strategy, consulting, managed services, or a related environment.
  • Experience working within an MSP, MSSP, consulting, technology services, or similarly client-focused organization is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity operations and incident response, with the ability to operate strategically rather than remaining focused exclusively on day-to-day technical details.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, programs, technologies, initiatives, or organizational transformations.
  • Proven ability to assess complex situations quickly, identify priorities, develop roadmaps, and drive execution through ambiguity.
  • Strong strategic and business acumen, with the ability to balance security risk, revenue objectives, customer experience, and operational requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex cybersecurity concepts clearly to executives, clients, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without relying on formal authority, build consensus, establish accountability, and drive cross-functional decisions.
  • Strong client-facing and advisory skills, with the confidence to participate in strategic customer conversations and executive-level discussions.
  • Experience evaluating cybersecurity technologies, platforms, vendors, and service models and translating those evaluations into actionable investment decisions.
  • A practical, solutions-oriented leadership style with strong judgment, ownership, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives and competing priorities.
  • Willingness to provide occasional after-hours support for security incidents and periodic travel based on business and client needs.
  • Ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
