Benefits
Full description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to support our National Security Space and Sensor Customers.
As a Solutions Architect on AWS National Security Team, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to AWS customers in the Intelligence Community – you are the “face of Amazon” to our customers; you will engage on a broad variety of technical challenges which are not just complex, but mission-critical.
This is a high visibility role where you collaborate with, and influence, both external stakeholders and internal AWS teams including sales and platform engineering. National Security Solutions Architects (SAs) are regarded as technical “thought leaders” within the Intelligence Community who evangelize emerging technologies not only on a conceptual level, but also on a practical, architectural level.
As a National Security SA, you’ll solve problems at both the business and technical levels – you'll work backwards from our customers’ requirements, envisioning new solutions and strategies we can leverage that would enable agencies to operate more efficiently and better execute on their mission objectives. You'll make the puzzle pieces fit together from the technical side and deliver the offering to the customer at scale. Frequently, you will be responsible for mission-critical solutions with National Security implications.
Often, the best way to innovate around a customer challenge is to create a new product altogether. This position offers you the unique opportunity to enhance existing AWS service features and even create entirely new tools to adapt to our customers’ requirements within the complex technical constraints of the cleared environment.
Amazon Web Services is looking for experienced and motivated technologists who align with our Leadership Principles and possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a solutions architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
- Architect cloud-based solutions in response to complex technical challenges
- In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
- As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform
- Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
- Design and implement generative AI, machine learning, and agentic AI architectures using AWS services (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI, Amazon Q) tailored to IC mission requirements
- Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community
- Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and other reusable content
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support
