Mechanical Project Manager / Engineer

Deliver Mission-Critical Mechanical Systems

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Project Manager / Engineer to join our growing data centre project team in Norway. This role offers the opportunity to lead mechanical project delivery from design and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. Based on the requirements of large-scale mission-critical projects, you will drive quality, safety, programme performance, and technical excellence across all mechanical systems.

As a key member of the project team, you will manage complex mechanical packages including HVAC, cooling systems, piping, and associated infrastructure, ensuring delivery to world-class standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead mechanical package delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and procurement activities.
  • Ensure project milestones and commissioning deadlines are achieved.

Mechanical Engineering

  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, cooling, ventilation, and associated plant equipment.
  • Review technical drawings, calculations, and engineering submittals.
  • Support value engineering and design optimisation initiatives.

Construction & Commissioning

  • Supervise construction activities and coordinate mechanical subcontractors.
  • Ensure installations comply with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Lead mechanical testing, flushing, commissioning, and system handover activities.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with electrical, CSA, BMS, commissioning, and client teams.
  • Lead technical meetings and provide engineering expertise throughout project delivery.
  • Manage interfaces between mechanical systems and other project disciplines.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional Project Management qualifications are advantageous.

Experience

  • 8+ years' experience delivering mechanical engineering projects.
  • Experience within data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, mission-critical environments, or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Proven track record managing multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems, piping, mechanical plant, and commissioning processes.
  • Experience with engineering and project management software.
  • Understanding of mechanical design principles, industry standards, and construction regulations.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
