This is an opportunity to combine quantitative problem-solving, hands-on software testing, and cross-functional partnership to deliver products that clients can trust for accuracy, reliability, and performance. You will take on complex, often unstructured challenges, translate insights into stronger quality practices, and help advance scalable testing capabilities across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain comprehensive quality assurance test suites for Verisk Casualty Catastrophe Model.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, and customer success analysts to understand end‑to‑end user workflows, use cases, and feature requirements to translate them into effective test strategies.
- Create and maintain test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases, covering functional, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end testing.
- Partner with developers to design and implement automated test scripts and maintain automation frameworks.
- Execute manual and automated testing, with a strong focus on REST API testing, system-level testing, and complex data-driven workflows
- You will ensure that products meet exacting requirements for accuracy and explicit and/or implicit validation of algorithms and document analytical work on Python's Jupyter noteboook or in R Markdown
- You will participate in cross-functional Agile Scrum teams while delivering concurrent day-to-day tasks and use automated testing practices throughout the software development life cycle.
- Position requires a deep commitment to quality assurance that leverages the best practices already in place and help to enhance them.
- Engage with stakeholders as needed to clarify requirements, assumptions, and quality expectations throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in STEM related areas (data science, engineering, science, mathematics, finance, economics), with 5-7 years related work experience
- A natural problem-solver with a strong desire to understand how the product works and is used by the clients, including edge cases and underlying assumptions.

- A strong knowledge of QA methodologies, with demonstrated experience in building test strategies.
- A passion for driving efficiency and advocating for continuous process improvements.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Cypress and Playwright, along with tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps, and data formats including HTML, JSON, XML, and YAML.
