Position Summary
The System Administrator / Network & Help Desk Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure, including virtualization platforms, backup solutions, endpoint management systems, and network services. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of IT systems while providing Tier 2/3 support to end users.
Principle Responsibilities:
- System Administration
- Administer and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization, and storage systems
- Manage and support Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) environments
- Perform system monitoring, patch management, upgrades, and performance tuning
- Ensure system security, compliance, and adherence to IT policies
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Manage and support Veeam Backup & Replication solutions
- Configure and monitor backup jobs, replication, and recovery processes
- Perform regular backup validation and test restores
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery (DR) procedures and documentation
- Endpoint Management (SCCM / MECM)
- Administer Microsoft SCCM (Endpoint Configuration Manager)
- Deploy applications, patches, and updates via Software Center
- Troubleshoot SCCM deployment failures and client issues
- Manage OS deployments, task sequences, and software packaging
- Networking
- Manage and support LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues
- Manage VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and network security controls
- Help Desk & Support
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for users and IT systems
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Manage IT tickets, incidents, and service requests within SLA
- Support end-user computing (Windows OS, applications, devices)
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 – 6+ years of experience in system administration, networking, or IT support
- Ability to be on-site daily and to provide after-hours support when needed
- Technical Skills Required
- Nutanix HCI (AHV, Prism)
- Veeam Backup & Replication (backup, restore, DR)
- Microsoft SCCM / MECM (deployments, patching, OSD)
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
- Windows Server administration
- Active Directory, Group Policy
- Virtualization technologies
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure or hybrid cloud environments
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Knowledge of IT security best practices
- ITIL framework familiarity
- Relevant certifications (preferred):
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
- Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MD-102, etc.)
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+
